We offer intimate workshops, introductory classes and short courses for participants of all abilities. Now, get your markers at the ready… this is where the magic happens.
Immerse yourself in a vortex of creativity during one of our Whirlwind Workshops. Learn how to design original motifs and basic units by hand, then digitise these into repeat patterns using a smartphone or tablet. We’ll play with scale and repetition and create gorgeous surface design artwork and ready-to-go digital files for printing your designs onto paper, cloth and products.
Choose from our range of workshops: Intro to Textile Design, Paper Pattern Print, and Private workshops.
Perfect for: Beginners wanting a hands-on, simple surface design experience or to gain a new hobby. Perhaps you’ve fallen in love with the colouring for mindfulness craze and want to take it to the next level with digitisation!

What you’ll get out of it: Take home up to six designs that you can print onto fabric via websites like Spoonflower or directly onto products or garments. Get creative and connect with new people in a fun, nurturing environment.
What to bring: A Smartphone or Tablet and a sense of adventure!
1 – 2 Day Intensives
These short courses are more intensive than the workshops and delve into more detail about different types of art-making, materials and media. We’ll provide an overview of how to use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for surface design in different ways, while still focusing on taking the traditional art-to-digital approach. Discover how to create more advanced repeat structures that will blow your mind!

It’s a great intro class for artists and photographers who want to commercialise composition and look at product diversification, as well as professionals wanting to up-skill (I’m looking at you home economics, textile and fashion design teachers).
